Fishing Dory General Description: A traditional open hull fishing dory, with bench seats and oars. Overall length is 10 feet. The fishing dory comes fully assembled. Building details: The vessel is handcrafted using traditional wooden boatbuilding techniques, the construction is exceptional. The framing, top timbers, cap rail and deck houses are crafted of 3/4 inch white oak. The hull planking is 1/2 inch thick. Planks are fastened on frames with stainless steel screws. The deck is crafted of 1 x 6 inch IPE, fastened on frames with stainless deck screws. IPE is a brazilian walnut known for its beauty and durability.
Standard features: The fishing dory has athwartships bench seating. Two traditional wooden oars are fastened in place as if they were stowed. A flag staff proudly displays the U.S flag. Finish stains: We have a wide variety of vibrant finish stains available. They create long lasting fun colors for kids play. The interior of the vessel is oiled to allow for the natural beauty of the white oak and IPE to show through. All finishes are safe for children’s play. Base structure/ setup details: The base is crafted of moisture resistant material and designed to set on a flat surface. The vessel is fastened to the ground with 4 to 6 simple ground anchors. The ground and play area surrounding the vessel should be prepared with loose mulch or otherwise appropriate ground cover. We are available to discuss options if needed.
